Yoga is a mindful physical activity that helps individuals deal with stress and is especially vital for those involved in addiction and recovery. Yoga uses mental and physical techniques to target the part of the brain that was affected by a substance use disorder and has been known to help reduce cravings. Yoga practices have also been known to activate the parasympathetic nervous system which is responsible for helping our bodies bounce back from stress.
